Forrest Gump-inspired Vegan Chocolate Truffles

March is movie-month at Leopard's Leap and Forrest Gump's reference to chocolate was all we needed to come up with a delicious recipe for chocolate truffles. Bonus - it is super easy, it's vegan and.... it is delightful with a glass of 2018 Leopard's Leap Classic Merlot!

Chocolate Truffles Recipe

Makes roughly 50 x 10 g truffles

Ingredients

3 cups cream

3 cups dark chocolate – Vhalrona 65 - 70%

½ cup cocoa powder

chopped pistachio nuts (optional)

Method

Bring the cream to the boil in a saucepan on the stove.

Pour the boiling cream onto the chocolate in 3 additions, stirring after each addition. Add the nuts to the chocolate, if preferred.

Once all the chocolate has melted, pour into a tray and leave to set in the fridge.

When set, remove from the fridge and roll into 10 g balls.

Toss through cocoa powder.

Remove from the fridge 30 minutes before serving.
