BOOKER CELEBRATION AT THE BOOK LOUNGE

In a strange roomIn a strange room

South African author Damon Galgut has been shortlisted for the 2010 Man Booker prize for his novel 'In a Strange Room'. To celebrate this this remarkable achievement, The Book Lounge in Cape Town hosted a special celebration last night. Damon read from his book to a packed audience, spilling out into the street as they tried to squeeze in to listen, and signed copies of the novel for fans. Leopard's Leap presented him with a case of Family Collection Shiraz Mourvèdre Viognier to congratulate him on his achievement. We are all holding thumbs that he wins the prize in October. In the image below Book Lounge owner Mervyn Sloman introduces Damon and reads a message from his Johannesburg publisher, who could not attend.
