CELEBRATING OUR FRENCH HERITAGE

CELEBRATING OUR FRENCH HERITAGE

CELEBRATING OUR FRENCH HERITAGE

This year we celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Franschhoek Bastille Festival. Based on the French freedom day on the 14th of July, this year the weekend of festivities in Franschhoek will be from 12 to 14 July.

Our programme for the weekend includes:

Saturday, 13 July

12:00 – 17:00:  Leopard’s Leap will be introducing its newly released Culinaria Collection for tasting in the festival marquee in the town square.

09:00 – 17:00 Join us at Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards for a tasting of our versatile range of wines or add some je ne sais quoi to the weekend by pairing our wines with some French cheeses.

  • Try the French Comté cheese with Leopard’s Leap Shiraz. Matured for 16 months, this creamy and nutty cheese is also described as toasty and its flavour spectrum includes fruit and pepper – making it the ideal partner to our Shiraz.
  • Or what about the Saint-Maure de Touraine with Leopard’s Leap Chardonnay? With complex nutty flavours, a pleasant saltiness and creamy finish this cheese is a beautiful accompaniment to the right glass of wine.
  • Why not try one of our unique wine cocktails? We will be serving a Lookout Semi-Sweet Digestive and the Lookout Red Glühwein.

10:30 – 15:00 If cheese and wine is not your idea of a meal, sit down for a relaxing and informal Rotisserie lunch with a Harvest Table filled with French flair.

Expect the following:

  • Roast duck on the rotisserie
  • French cheese and charcuterie on baguettes
  • French-inspired salads
  • Classic French vinaigrette
  • Moules marinière
