POCKET-FRIENDLY AND FUN FRIDAY NIGHT IDEAS
Chances are your plans for Easter Weekend have been made well in advance. And while we all know that weekends away do not come cheap, the nasty surprise of a substantial petrol price hike just before the long-awaited long weekend is certainly not good news to anyone.
We have thought of a few inexpensive ways to enjoy yourself this weekend so that you can save that bit extra for filling up the tank in a week!
Are you single? Invite a few friends over, get our Lookout White from the nearest supermarket and make this delicious Lookout Punch. Pour 60 ml warmed honey into a large glass jug and add 750 ml (1 bottle) Lookout White. Use a long spoon or swivel stick to stir the honey until it is well combined with the wine. Add 500 ml (2 cups) Ginger-ale, 1 orange, 1 lemon, 1 lime (all thinly sliced) and top with fresh mint leaves. Add some ice and serve in tall glasses. Delightful!
A romantic couple? Valentine’s Day is something of the distant past and perhaps it is time to rekindle the romance in an affordable way. How about cooking an intimate dinner for two? And you really do not need salmon and caviar! Share a 500-gram steak and cover it in Chef Pieter’s delicious mushroom sauce and open a bottle of our 2012 Culinaria Grand Vin. Delicious without robbing the bank!
Tired over-worked with a young family? How about taking it easy with lip-smacking braai broodjies or cheese toasties for the family? Grown-ups can ensure thorough relaxation with a glass or two of our 2014 Leopard’s Leap Chardonnay.
Is Friday night your traditional family get-together? Remember that is about family and each other and if you don’t have the energy for a big meal, do a bring and braai and just ensure that your wines are at the optimum temperature to perform at their best!
