SA WINE BLOGGER SUED
We found this story very interesting: A South African wine blogger is being sued for defamation by the Top 100 SA Wine Competition to the tune of R100 000.
According to winetimes.co.za:
A post published last year, on the blog of TVdionysus, rubbered the wrong side of the Top 100 SA Wine Competition after he questioned the organization’s Wine List Challenge credibility. In the post Dionysus stated his concern over the inclusion of the award’s CEO, Robin von Holdt ’s guest house, Rodwell House, which was named as one of the winners of the competition, but it was the opening paragraph, comparing the competition to an African dictator, that sparked the R100 000 lawsuit. The paragraph has since been edited.
It should be interesrting to see how this suit will affect the wine blogging and social media community.
