SOWETO WINE FESTIVAL FESTIVITIES

More than 7500 people attended the 6th annual Soweto Wine Festival, held at the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus from 2-4 September 2010. Visitors enjoyed live music, food and wine pairing demonstrations and the wine from 99 exhibitors, including Leopard's Leap.

According to Marilyn Cooper, joint founding member of the festival and MD of the Cape Wine Academy, the festival proves that wine is something enjoyed by every South African, and that the mostly-black middle-class market is on its its way to becoming the primary market for wine consumers in South Africa.
